The best time to join us is at the start of each 6 week block. However, It's fine to join us mid-term and you'll only be charged for the remaining weeks.

Sadly not. We need commitment from our members so we ask you to pay for a 6 week block in advance. Not everyone can make it every week, but with growing demand for places your seat is secure in the choir. Everyone is welcome to attend a different Jubilaté rehearsal in the morning or evening if you can't make it to your usual session.
We essentially follow the school terms; Spring, Summer and Autumn each totalling 12 weeks. You can either pay for 6 weeks or 12 weeks at a time. There is always a 'half term break.' In the build up to a concert, there will be extra rehearsals that are free of charge to existing members.
Jubilaté Choir is open to anyone aged 16 or above. All abilities are welcome, regardless of your experience or expertise.
We love meeting prospective new members and it's normally fine to just turn up unannounced. However, it's always best to let us know that you're coming in advance so we can get your chair and music prepared. There is a growing demand for places so there may be times when we pause or limit new membership. Please email hello@lucygove.com to book a taster session.
Absolutely not. There is no pressure and no expectation for anyone to sing a solo!
There is no expectation to be able to read music, but we do follow a score in rehearsals. It takes a bit of getting used to but you'll actually find it makes more sense than just using a lyric sheet.
A typical term includes some 80's synth pop, a couple of soul classics, a good old power ballad, some classic rock anthems, a few disco hits to get you groovin' and plenty of well-known crowd-pleasers. All our arrangements are expertly-crafted and carefully selected to leave you feeling uplifted and full of happiness.
In 2025 we gave a total of 5 performances in Bishopsbourne, Adisham, Ramsgate, Preston, Sandwich plus a bonus singalong at The Dog in Wingham. In 2026 we have 4 concerts booked but there is no obligation to perform in all of them - just sing when you can.
It's absolutely fine to try out a different voice group if you're not 100% sure how high or low your voice is. We are completely flexible and sometimes it can take a few weeks before members find the right section of the choir for them.
Nope. Lots of our members were totally new to singing before they joined; some had been told they couldn't sing as a child; some were too afraid to sing in front of anyone else. Other members of Jubilaté have sung in choirs all their life and can read music fluently. The lovely thing is we all muddle in together and support one another.
